Dr. Pavlo Pylyavskyy is a full Professor in the University of Minnesota School of Mathematics. He participated in numerous math Olympiads when he was young. His Math Olympiad achievements include 2 IMO Gold Medals, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze Medal. He was also awarded the Putman fellow. (https://sites.google.com/site/pylyavskyy/)

Mr. Alexander Zhu is currently a senior at Carleton College majoring in mathematics. He has extensive experience with math competitions and teaching. He is one of the main coaches for the Minnesota All-State Math Team and has taught classes at Northfield High School. He is also involved with many math organizations, such as the Minnesota State High School Math League and the Mathematical Association of America.

Dr. Jingwei Meng is currently a faculty member at Indiana University. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Duke University and a MBA degree in finance and supply chain management from Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Dr. Meng is the co-founder of Melody Culture Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization established in 2004. He is actively involved in many cultural and educational services, including the first Chinese TV program in San Diego, concerts and master classes in music, summer and winter camps in business, and systematic business training for middle school and high school students. Since 2018, Dr. Meng has developed a comprehensive suite of business courses (“MBA for Youth” Program) and instructed in summer and winter camps across the US. His business classes are also offered as online weekly programs during spring and fall semesters.

Mr. Michael Huang is a rising junior at the University of Minnesota, majoring in computer science. He was a member of the Century High School Math League Team, and has participated in numerous math competitions, such as AMC, AIME, MathCounts, and ARML. He has volunteered as an RMC math coach since 9th grade. Michael has also participated extensively in Science Olympiad and Science Bowl activities, in both middle and high school. Outside of mathematics and science, he also enjoys playing video games and investing in random programming projects for fun. He especially enjoys breaking programs and websites by writing bots.

Mr. Aiden Kronebusch is currently a senior PSEO student at Century High School, MN. He was recently admitted to Texas A&M University for their engineering program in addition to being a potential honors candidate, and plans to ultimately go into astronautical engineering as a researcher and eventual business owner or manager. Throughout his 3 and a half years of enrollment at his high school, he has maintained functionally perfect grades through honors and dual enrollment classes alike, and strives for the utmost quality and accuracy in his work. He is very familiar with many different elements of mathematics and some classical physics, and has strived to understand their concepts wholly and completely. 100% of his extracurricular work is dedicated entirely towards his robotics team, FRC Team 2530. There, he is the lead integrator for the design team, and oversees all functions related to the design and implementation of different robot components. He is the sole assigned coordinator for design, and communicates with every subteam to ensure that no problems will exist on the final iteration of the robot. So far he has helped raise over $7000 in funds for the team, has obtained a varsity letter every single year of his participation, and has contributed heavily to the design and development of three successful robots. Aiden also volunteers at Channel One Food Bank every week. When he does have free time, Aiden typically enjoys playing video games, watching television shows, or reading math/science books or novels. This is his first year of participation on the AoS Summer Camp faculty team, and he hopes to share as much knowledge as possible with attending students.

Daniel Li is a sophomore at MIT. Daniel was a USACO finalist in the 2018-2019 season. He was also a 2020 and 2021 Canadian Computing Olympiad Invitee, and a 2020 and 2021 season Google Code Jam Round 2 qualifier. He participates in Codeforces contests (danielli03) and has a Master Title as well. Daniel enjoys teaching. He has taught Java and algorithms for 500 hours in his high school years, with more than 100 students. Since entering college, he has taught four courses (Bronze level one, Bronze level two, and Silver two times) at AoS with more than 90 students total. In addition, he has been an instructor for AoS summer camp 2022. Daniel has made 48 youtube videos to teach java (cswithdaniel), which has more than 550 subscribers. In his free time, Daniel participates in church bible study and activities. He currently does research at MIT involving machine learning. Daniel also likes to play card games and board games. He has programmed video games, but not recently.

Ms. Zhishan “Hao Hao” Wang is a recent graduate from MIT with a B.S. in biology. She enjoys learning about novel applications of biology to biomedical research. During high school, Hao Hao participated in academic competitions such as the AMC, National Science Bowl (NSB), National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB), and National Academic Quiz Tournaments (NAQT). She has 6+ years of experience teaching math, biology, and reading/writing.

Mr. Arnold Gao is a Game Developer, composer, and sound designer who is a rising sophomore studying Game Development and Interactive Design at the University of Southern California. He is a cofounder at SDA Productions, a studio specializing in video game production and animation.

Dr. Yi Zhou graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) with a B.S. in Modern Physics and then continued to earn his Ph.D in theoretical/computational physics at the University of Houston in the United States. He has been a math and physics enthusiast from an early age, and now has been teaching AP Physics and Physics competitions class for several years. Many students have excelled in the AAPT F=ma exam and earned medals in the USAPHO competition. During his free time, Dr. Zhou enjoys doing interesting math/physics problems and long distance running.

Mr. Chuck Wheeler Handlon, also known as “Dr. Boom,” has more than 40 years of experience teaching chemistry. The curricula he has taught include Chem - Study, Honors, General, ACS Chemistry in the Community, Advanced Placement, and International Baccalaureate. He holds both Biology and Chemistry BA degrees and an MA in Chemistry Education. He has been a grader for the national Advanced Placement Chemistry exam. His approach to teaching has always involved developing students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills through hands-on activities and laboratory work.

Mr. Jonathan West, BA in Classics from Trinity University, MA in Religion from Trinity International University, and MA in Education from the University of Phoenix. He has been maniacally scribbling red ink since 2001 as an editor then a teacher. Now living in Rochester, MN, he tutors full-time in writing and reading. In his spare time, he plays with his hyperactive Aussiedoodle, reads, draws, and plays puzzle games.

Mrs. Tara Gaoyang, MFA in Film Production from Chapman University. She started composing for film and games in 2015. Now lives in so-cal as a sound designer in the film industry and teaching film production courses. She also enjoys teaching yoga and meditation in her free time.

With over ten years’ passion and creativity for baking, Misha’s popularity growth has been undeniable in the Twin Cities. As an entrepreneur, Mrs. Misha has proven to be resourceful in starting a business, forming professional partnerships and executing visions for expansion. She also enjoys serving the Chinese community in direct correlation with her business. In her limited spare time, Mrs. Misha enjoys taking in Minneapolis’ art scene and traveling to new places.
