Dr. Yu has taught several math competition classes. He won the first prize (national level) in China's National High School Math Competition (1994). He graduated from Nankai University's special math class founded by Shiing-shen Chern; and received his Ph.D. degree from University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Yu is currently a math professor at University of California, Irvine and recipient of the prestigious National Science Foundation Career award (2012).

He participated in numerous math Olympiads when he was young. His Math Olympiad achievements includes 2 IMO Gold Medals, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze Medals. He was also awarded the Putman fellow. |
Computer Science
Benjamin Yan is a computer science student at Stanford University who worked as a machine learning intern at Mayo Clinic. At Mayo, he conducted and published research in high-tech medical imaging and computer vision technology. He is a U.S Presidential Scholar, one of the nation’s rarest and prestigious honors for students, a two-time International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) finalist, and a state high school math champion. With over four years of teaching experience, he has orchestrated several classes in programming, AMC 8/10, and MATHCOUNTS, where he coached a team to 4th place at State. In his free time, Ben delights in watching his hometown Minnesota Vikings, listening to Taylor Swift and Coldplay albums, going on bike rides, and playing soccer and tennis games.

Timothy Alexander is an undergraduate at The University of Alabama double majoring in Math and Chemistry. Timothy’s love and interest in STEM started at a young age as he began participating in math competitions in middle school - winning the Minnesota Mathcounts competition and placing 29th nationally in 2016. As a 5 time AIME qualifier and 1 time USAJMO qualifier. Timothy has been active in individual competitions year round as well as team competitions such as Math League, HMMT, and ARML (competing on Minnesota's A1 team). He was a Minnesota All-State Math Team Captain and John Marshal Math League Captain for 3 years. His experience in programming comes from numerous independent projects such as an automated forex trading algorithm, an election modeler, and a custom assistant bot which performs a variety of tasks. Outside of school, Timothy loves playing sports such as soccer and spikeball, playing strategic board games, and watching shows such as Parks and Rec and Brooklyn 99!

Debate
Hemanth Asirvatham
Hemanth Asirvatham is a student at Harvard University. He was formerly the captain of the Century High School debate team and placed multiple times at statewide competitions. Hemanth attended the Research Science Institute at MIT and was awarded Top 10 presentation. Hemanth is a State AP Scholar, has placed 2nd at the US National Brain Bee, and is a two-time ISEF Finalist. He has led and instructed school teams for Model UN, Science Bowl, and STEM Society. Hemanth recently instructed a Debate 101 summer program with over 150 attendees. In his free time, Hemanth enjoys watching Star Trek (better than Star Wars, obviously), rereading Harry Potter for the 100th time, and beating his friends in Monopoly, Werewolf, or really any other non-physical game.
Physics
Dr. Yi Zhou
Dr. Zhou graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) with a B.S. in Modern Physics and then continued to earn his Ph.D in theoretical/computational physics at the University of Houston in the United States. He has been a math and physics enthusiast from an early age, and now has been teaching AP Physics and Physics competitions class for several years. Many of his students excelled in the AAPT F=ma exam and earned medals in the USAPHO competition. During leisure time, Yi enjoys doing interesting math/physics problems and long distance running.
BIOLOGY
Zhishan Wang
Zhishan “Hao Hao” Wang is a rising senior at MIT studying biology. Outside of classes, she works as a research intern at the MIT Graybiel Lab. During highschool, Hao Hao participated in academic competitions such as the AMC, National Science Bowl (NSB), National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB), and National Academic Quiz Tournaments (NAQT). She also has 5+ years of experience teaching math, biology, and reading/writing.

BUSINESS FOR YOUTH
DR. JINGWEI MENG
Dr. Meng is currently a faculty member at Indiana University School of Medicine. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in molecular cancer biology from Duke University and a MBA degree in finance and supply chain management from IU Kelley School of Business. He served as a consultant for several US and China firms and, in 2019, secured $3.5 million investments for two healthcare companies. Dr. Meng is also the co-founder of Melody Culture Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization established in 2004. He participated actively in cultural and educational services, including the first Chinese TV program in San Diego, concerts and master classes, summer camps, and systematic business training for teenagers. Since 2018, Dr. Meng has developed a comprehensive suite of business courses and instructed in multiple summer camps and weekend programs across the US.
Writing
Mr. Jonathan West
Jonathan West, BA in Classics from Trinity University, MA in Religion from Trinity International University, and MA in Education from the University of Phoenix. He has been maniacally scribbling red ink since 2001 as an editor then a teacher. Now living in Rochester, MN, he tutors full-time in writing and reading. In his spare time, he plays soccer with his hyperactive Aussiedoodle, draws, and adores Star Wars.
