Dr. Yu has taught several math competition classes. He won the first prize (national level) in China's National High School Math Competition (1994). He graduated from Nankai University's special math class founded by Shiing-shen Chern; and received his Ph.D. degree from University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Yu is currently a math professor at University of California, Irvine and recipient of the prestigious National Science Foundation Career award (2012).

He participated in numerous math Olympiads when he was young. His Math Olympiad achievements includes 2 IMO Gold Medals, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze Medals. He was also awarded the Putman fellow. |
Chemistry
Mr. Chuck Wheeler Handlon
Mr. Handlon has forty years of experience teaching middle and high school chemistry, physical science and physics. For many years he has been an instructor of 3 – 8th grade STEM camps and elementary / middle school “College for Kids” programs. He has been an adjunct university instructor for elementary education majors teaching STEM Methods. He has helped develop state science standards curricula and is an active member of the Minnesota Science Teachers Association and National Science Teachers Association.
Physics
Dr. Yi Zhou
Dr. Zhou graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) with a B.S. in Modern Physics and then continued to earn his Ph.D in theoretical/computational physics at the University of Houston in the United States. He has been a math and physics enthusiast from an early age, and now has been teaching AP Physics and Physics competitions class for several years. Many of his students excelled in the AAPT F=ma exam and earned medals in the USAPHO competition. During leisure time, Yi enjoys doing interesting math/physics problems and long distance running.
Computer Science
Mr. Zhezheng Luo
Mr. Luo graduated from the High School Affiliated to Anhui Normal University, is now a sophomore student at MIT majoring in Computer Science. He had participated in competitive programming for 8 years and has 10 years coding experience. In 2017, he entered the US Olympiad Informatics team and won the gold medal in International Olympiad in Informatics (3rd place).

Jonathan West, BA in Classics from Trinity University, MA in Religion from Trinity International University, and MA in Education from the University of Phoenix. He has been maniacally scribbling red ink since 2001 as an editor then a teacher. Now living in Rochester, MN, he tutors full-time in writing and reading. In his spare time, he plays soccer with his hyperactive Aussiedoodle, draws, and adores Star Wars.

Ms. Wang graduated from Peking University, and received her master's degree from UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. She started her journalism career from Xinhua News Agency, working as an overseas correspondent in Cairo, Egypt and editor for the International News Department in Beijing. Mrs. Wang has over ten years professional journalism experience in the United States covering politics, finance, education, health care and immigration. Her print and multimedia work has been published by media such as New America Media, PBS News Hour, the Orange County Register Magazine, the China Daily, where she served as the founding Los Angeles bureau chief, as well as in the bilingual Global Times.
