Andrew YanCamp CounselorAndrew Yan is a graduating senior at Century High School, where he serves as a Science Olympiad Captain and the Science Bowl Captain. He has coached for RMC for five years, and has also taught an introductory chemistry course for the RMC’s summer program. He has also formerly participated in Math League and Math Counts. Aurora Wang is a rising senior at Mounds View High School. She has participated in various math competitions such as Mathcounts, MN Math League, AMC, AIME, ARML, and HMMT. She has participated in Science Olympiad in middle school and high school, and she competes on her school’s economics team. Outside of school, Aurora is a devoted piano player with numerous awards in piano competitions, and she has made several appearances as a soloist with professional orchestras. Most recently, she performed Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1 with the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra. Her solo performance was featured on Classical Minnesota Public Radio.

Kenneth Chen is a rising senior at East Ridge High School where he serves as a co-captain of the debate team and math team. He is a two-time national qualifier and a UK TOC qualifier in debate. Additionally, he has been a member of the MN All-State Math Team since 8th grade and has competed in various math competitions at state and national level. Outside of debate and math, he enjoys playing the cello, playing volleyball, coding, and eating gourmet food.

He represented Minnesota during the 2018 Mathcounts Competition, and has been a member of the MN All State Math Team since 2018. He has been a coach for the Rochester Math Club since 8th grade. He has taught a summer chess course, and has also coached the Kellogg Mathcounts. In his free time, Golden likes to pursue discord, play chess, and planespot.

Michelle Cao is a rising senior at Wayzata High School and a member of the Minnesota All-State Math team since 7th grade. She has participated in various math competitions such as AMC 10 DHR, Math League, AIME, ARML, and MPFG. She has also taught competition math classes through RMC and her local Chinese school. Outside of math, Michelle competes on the varsity tennis and Science Olympiad teams. She is also lettered in BPA and DECA, and she serves as the Vice President of Wayzata UNICEF.

Zoey is a graduating senior at Century High School. At Century, she served as a co-captain of the debate and girls tennis team, and president of Asian American Youth Advocates. Outside of school, she serves as a coach and Secretary of Rochester Math Club and Operations Manager of Living Room Tutors, and teaches coding classes at an elementary school. Zoey learned acrylic painting through Youtube when she was 9, and now teaches painting through online classes and at the local children’s museum. To release her pent-up energy, she loves dancing in her room, watching sunsets, making smoothies, and walking her dog.

William WangCamp CounselorWill Wang is a rising senior at Boise High School. He has been actively involved in numerous academic competitions, such as MathCounts, Science Bowl, AMC, ARML, and BMT. Will was the math, biology, and earth science specialist of the TVMSC Science Bowl team, which placed 9th at the National Science Bowl in 2019. He is currently the president and captain of the Boise High Science Bowl team. Will is also the principal oboist for the Idaho All-State Orchestra and Boise Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. He enjoys listening to opera music and shopping for things he cannot afford. His favorite composers are Schubert and Rachmaninoff. While he does his best to remain a responsible netizen, his favorite Minecraft server is minemen.club.

Leo is a rising senior in The Pingry School. He participates in math and physics competitions and is a 2 time USAJMO qualifier as well as a USAPhO qualifier. He was a former camper in Art of Science’s first year running, and has been a summer counselor for the past two years. He also plays basketball for his school, as well as leads his school's math and chess club. In his free time, he enjoys watching and playing sports as well as chess and other puzzle related games.

Jenny Yan is a graduating senior at Century High School, where she serves as captain of the Debate Team and Girls Tennis team, and as Senior Class President for the Class of 2022. She is also the 2020 MN Classic Debate State Champion and has founded and taught a summer debate camp with over 150 students. Jenny is passionate about civic engagement and intersectional advocacy; she is the President of her local Junior State of America chapter and she leads the Development Committee of the Rochester Community Initiative. Maggie is a graduating senior at Century High School. She is a member of the Century Math League team and has participated in multiple math competitions such as MathCounts, AMC, and ARML. She teaches math through the Rochester Math Club and as a TA in an AMC8 class. Maggie is also interested in computational oncology and interns at a bioinformatics lab. Outside of STEM, she is a pianist and an administrator in the BOP program. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, exploring her backyard, and eating pomelo.

Liya is a rising junior at a local magnet high school. She is an active competitor in various national math and physics competitions. She also participated in the 2019 MSNCT. She enjoys learning languages for fun, dabbling in French, Korean, Spanish, Chinese, Latin, and Japanese from time to time. In 2019, she achieved a gold medal in Le Grand Concours, a national French contest, after placing above the 95th percentile. She earned a national award for the 2018 National Latin Exam. She is an avid learner with many broad interests. She has also volunteered as a teacher in math, chess, and coding at non-profit organizations since 2016. In her free time, she enjoys smelling flowers and watching grass grow.

Hans Xu is a graduating senior at Century High School, where he participates in BPA, and serves as captain for both Science Olympiad and the National Economics Challenge. Hans enjoys studying economics and finance and is a part of the Rochester Public Schools Economic Engine Working Group as an advisor to the school district. Joseph is a second-year Vagelos Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania. During his time in high school, Joseph qualified as a top 20 finalist of the USA Biology Olympiad competition and earned a silver medal (national Top 8). As a leading member of the Troy Science Olympiad team, he helped lead the team to become national champions twice. He has also won numerous individual national medals such as 1st place in Disease Detectives, 2nd place in Anatomy & Physiology, and 3rd place in Designer Genes. He plans to use his +6 years of teaching experience to make this course enjoyable and enriching.
